This place is quaint and cute! They use the inside space wisely. In the front there is a bookstore and in the back and outside on the patio there are tables and a cafe. They have a wide selection of drinks and cafe food. They even serve wine and beer!
I enjoyed their book selection and found myself interested in a couple of their books. The people who work there are very kind. There is WiFi available if you purchase something at the cafe. The cafe is PACKED with people on their laptops doing work so finding a spot to sit in can be a little difficult. You will have to be okay being cozy next to a complete stranger. But on the bright side, you might meet a new, interesting person!
I split the Blueberry Basil Limeaide and Veggie Hippie Sandwich with my sister and both were fresh and delicious. The sandwich was very tasty and the portion was good. I loved the focaccia bread it came on. Definitely give this place a try on maybe a less busy day. I don't know when a less busy time would be because I went on a weekday afternoon but I guess just give it a shot whenever! -

I am not writing reviews for popularity. I only write when I truly experience greatness or disappointment. This was the very best almond milk mochas I have ever had, EVER!
The rich foam topping made this feel creamy. The smell of cinnamon and nutmeg tickled my nose with every sip without over powering the taste of coffee and chocolate. Sweet but not too sweet. Perfect.
Finally, this is rare - it was the perfect temperature! No fear and starving.
Also, the vegan muffin was exquisite. Not too goopy and wonderfully encrusted with sugar that I miss from other vegan products.
Vibe is calm, music is present but not blaring. The books are an excellent noise absorber. That's smart! -

bookstore meets cafe. Trendy yet a timeless classic. Nothing like reading a good book with some coffee. Only down side is that it gets crowded on the weekends. There is outdoor seating though! There are certain tables that are "no laptop zones"!
The avocado toast has spicy red pepper flakes on it! Beware! The balsamic and arugula were good additions and I loved the choice of sourdough. Their vanilla iced latte was AMAZING! (The syrups are +$1). So it came out to be $5 but it was sweet and light.
There is a parking lot but I normally park at the walgreens a block away and just walk over. -

This place became an instant favorite. I'm always a sucker for coffee shops that are also something else, and a bookstore is an easy winner.
I went here in the afternoon (after 3) and it was very busy with lots of people working. The indoor seating by the counter is tight and not abundant, but it was cold as fuck that day so I couIdn't take advantage of the outdoor seating in the back. I got lucky and managed to snag a table as a group was leaving and my friend and I ended up staying to work for a solid three and a half hours.
I ordered a latte and the lox bagel without tomatoes. Both were good; the bagel stole my whole heart it was so yummy. My friend told me there's also performances in the outdoor space and it looked like they were getting ready for something as we were leaving but we didn't stick around.
There is a public parking lot on the other side of the outdoor seating but I'm pretty sure it was paid. I made use of free street parking but it's always a matter of looking for a bit.
Would love to go back!! -

Location: Location is great, it is walking distance from various restaurants, bars, and dessert spots. It is at the heart of Echo Park.
The People: The barista was very friendly. Many people come with their laptops or books to read/study/work inside and outside. People also come to have a drink and chat. Overall, good crowd.
The Drinks: Get an iced latte and do some work, when you are done working get a beer (win-win).
Work/Study: It is a good spot to study. Moderate noise levels but not enough to distract one from their task/s.
The Venue: Yes; it's an instagram-friendly spot. You have a mini bookstore, and two areas (one indoor and one outdoor) to study/work/read/hang out/etc.
Extras: If you get there early enough you can sit in a spot where you can charge your electronics.
Upshot: It is a decent place to get some work done. It closes later than most coffee shops in the Echo Park/Silver Lake area so if you are looking for a place to do some work/study or unwind with a drink and a book, this is the place for you. I usually come here once a month or so. I think it's a good "Sunday Funday" spot.
